The positive counterweight to messianic danger is not triumphal certainty. It is chastened hope. A mechanism can remain ordinary, corrigible, and fully exposed to failure, and still become the site of an unexpected good turn no one had the right to predict. That would be eucatastrophe here: not that the ranking system is the messiah, but that through a humble structure of comparison and correction, plural voices become more reconcilable than history said they should. The grace would not consist in the mechanism becoming sacred. It would consist in something genuinely healing happening through it without being reducible to it.
