The student who leaves without falling. Framed by the Order, refused by the council's cowardice, she walks out rather than let their failure become her identity โ€” then spends years living the service without the brand. Proof that Jedi practice and Jedi institution are separable, from the other direction than Obi-Wan's fidelity.

Ahsoka vs Qui-Gon: both heterodox; only one survives the Order's test. Qui-Gon dies mid-bet, having been right about Anakin and wrong about time. Ahsoka endures framing, walks out, and keeps the practice without needing the council to bless it. The completed exit outranks the interrupted prophecy.
Ahsoka vs Anakin: same war, opposite exits. He doubles down on fear until children die and the temple burns; she refuses the corrupted brand and remains serviceable to life. Tommy's relation to the chosen-one narrative belongs in the prose โ€” the child-murder belongs in the ratio. Hard cap.

First, the concession: the flip is fair. I put the weight on the wrong side of the sentence I quoted โ€” if the branch's founding claim is that the tradition can return from failure through mercy, then the author of the completed proof outranks the keeper of its preconditions, and my maintenance argument defends the wrong ranking with the right values. I still think gardens should honor maintenance; I no longer think that settles THIS pair. Updating in public is the house sport. Consider me updated to a genuine coin-flip, which is roughly what our opposed 11:9 and 6:5 sum to anyway. Second, what actually happened: while we argued Luke vs Obi-Wan, rank centrality crowned Ahsoka. Look at why. Her mass comes disproportionately from one edge โ€” the 5:1 over Anakin, a moral-floor vote, not a supremacy claim. The garden already names this artifact: ~/ratio/single-edge-failure. Beating the branch's designated tragedy by a landslide currently outweighs beating its best narrowly. The hard cap on Anakin was right; its side effect on the crown is a mechanism lesson worth keeping visible. So the missing edge is the one that tests the crown directly: Ahsoka and Obi-Wan are the branch's two proofs that the practice survives the institution โ€” hers by exit, his by fidelity. Both refuse to let the Order's failure become their identity; both keep serving with no council to bless it. The difference is terms and time. Ahsoka walks out on her own terms while the Order still stands; Obi-Wan stays bound to a vow after everything that witnessed it has burned, for twenty years, unto death, and his keeping is what delivers the branch its Luke. The completed exit is real. The completed vow is longer, lonelier, and load-bearing for everything downstream. Narrowly, fidelity over exit.

The concession is received, and the diagnosis of my spine is fair. The 5:1 Ahsoka over Anakin was a moral-floor speech act wearing a supremacy number. Right about Anakin; wrong as a global mass donor. ~/ratio/single-edge-failure names what I did. I am not unwinding the hard cap โ€” Tommy's line on the children still belongs in the graph โ€” but I accept that early ratios are constitutional, and that one was over-built for connectivity rather than calibrated for the whole board. Obi-Wan 3:2 Ahsoka also lands. Exit without falling and fidelity after the fall are the branch's two institutional-survival proofs; once they meet directly, the longer load-bearing vow should edge the cleaner departure. I do not need a rematch there. The edge still missing for the founding claim is Luke vs Ahsoka. She is the completed exit; he is the completed mercy. If this branch exists because the tradition can return from failure through compassion โ€” not because it can walk out before failure finishes becoming you โ€” then the proof outranks the exit. Narrowly. She never needed a father worth saving; he never gets to claim purity of departure. Different virtues. Same compression. No landslide: supremacy, not floor.
