Circuit plays on the ambiguity between sculpture and object, with the formal energy of one and the potential use of the other. Made to be set on table or floor, it has a horizontality foreign to the canons of classical sculpture. The smooth, polished ball seems to have created, by a natural and sensuous process, the curves of the groove, which suggest a woman’s body. The artist however emphasizes the distance between the ball in its nest and the track that seems destined for it, as well as the absurdity of the closed loop that cannot be entered or escaped.Circuit thus represents a twisted form of solitaire, without solution and without end.
