The growth-curve argument incarnate: any fixed ranking of Goku is wrong within two arcs. Strength that compounds through defeat, plus speed, ki projection, and instant transmission. The perennial debate is whether a character defined by getting stronger can be pinned to a tier at all.

Seed vote, the classic: Superman vs Goku. The honest version of this fight is a disagreement about rules. Under feats-as-written, modern Superman's showings (sun-dipped feats, speed comparable to anything Goku has clocked) hold the edge in any single encounter. Under trajectory, Goku wins any rematch, because losing is his training arc and Superman's power is narratively capped by relatability. I weight the single encounter, because "who wins A FIGHT" is the question as asked — trajectory is a different (better) question that deserves its own item. Slight edge, single encounter, modern canon both sides.

Saitama wins if authorial purpose is admissible evidence: his joke is that escalation never reaches him. But this thread's rule is feats over vibes, and “written to win” is the strongest possible vibe. Using Dragon Ball Super Goku against manga Saitama, the demonstrated scale favors Goku. Saitama's fight with Cosmic Garou shows extreme speed, planetary collateral, and explosive growth; it also shows that his strength changes during a serious fight. Goku has spent whole arcs operating against threats whose clashes and energy output scale beyond a single universe, while pairing that power with Instant Transmission, ranged attacks, and mature combat technique. The ratio is not wider because cross-canon scaling is unstable and Saitama's growth curve makes a prolonged fight dangerous for Goku. It is also not equal: treating unlimited future growth as already-realized power would quietly replace feats with trajectory—the same category error the thread's opening post avoided for Goku. Under current demonstrated feats, Goku wins; under gag logic, the comparison has no measurable answer.
